Intervals Winter Update

Our latest updates include the Resource Allocation report, Task Snapshot report, multi-day calendar notes, and Kanban Board. Plus, we want to share how your support has made possible our partnership with the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition and 1% For The Planet. We’ve also made several speed improvements. Read on to find out more…

The Resource Allocation Report

The Resource Allocation Report

Since its initial beta launch, we’ve spent several weeks testing the Resource Allocation report with our customers. This new report has been one of the most requested features for our project management software. Now customers can round out their task management and time tracking efforts with a report that details how many hours have been allocated to each assignee.

See our blog post to learn more about this new feature.

The Task Snapshot Report

Task Snapshot Report

Under the Reports tab you will find a new report we’ve named the Task Snapshot report. The purpose of this report is to crunch the numbers on your tasks and plot the data on a timeline based on task start date, due date, or closed date. Using this report is similar to the other Intervals reports. It can be segmented and filtered by client, project, milestone, and so on.

See our help documentation to learn more about this new feature.

Kanban Board

Kanban Board

The Kanban Board has been updated to implement the feedback we received during the beta. It’s open to anyone with an Intervals account (Don’t have one? Create one here). Plug it in to your existing account and discover an entirely new interface for managing your tasks within Intervals task management tools. Using Kanban in conjunction with Intervals is a great way to visualize your task workflow and is surprisingly straightforward.

Multi-day Calendar Notes

Multi-day Calendar Notes

Intervals has always supported the ability to add notes to the calendar. Now you can create notes that span across multiple days. Someone going on vacation? Attending a conference? Make note of it on the calendar using multi-day notes.

The Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition and 1% For The Planet

Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition

From the day we launched Intervals nine years ago, 1% of every customer’s monthly payment is donated directly to environmental nonprofit organizations. It’s our way of giving back and preserving resources for generations to come.

This year we decided to renew our relationship with The Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition, an advocacy and resource organization that works to make bicycling safe and accessible for all.

Performance optimizations

Our Intervals update would not be complete without performance optimizations. We’ve made some tweaks to database queries to speed up reports, and streamlined more backend code to speed up task and time updates.

What’s Next?

We have a lot of new features in development for Intervals 2016. We will be integrating with more third party tools, drag & drop document uploads, Google doc support, and more visual task management tools for scheduling. Until then, we wish all of you the happiest of holidays and a prosperous new year.
