Since a task can have multiple work types associated with it there is not a way to specify a single rate per task. When a new project is created the default work types and rates that are specified in the settings & defaults section get applied to the project. You can change the rates at the project level for that particular project and even delete work types that will not be used for that particular project. Any task that is associated with the project will have the billing rates that are associated with that particular project. Say for example you had a task to “create initial design comp”. This task could have some project management time, meeting time, design time, etc. This same task for two different projects with different billable rates would end up with a different total.
