We get a few emails here and there asking us how secure we’ve made Intervals, and if the prospective customer should have any concerns. It is an understandable concern, especially when a company is considering using a web-based app to host their data. We usually respond with the typical answer — the Intervals application and servers are repeatedly tested by security consultants, and our SSL plans incorporate 256 bit security. In addition, you have to option to encrypt sensitive project notes.
But there is one other thing we tell our customers, something that not a lot of other apps can claim. Our web design & development agency, Pelago, hosts our own data on Intervals. We have nine years worth of our clients project notes, tasks, and documents, including our timesheets, invoices, and other billing information.
We have every bit of reason as our customers to be concerned about application security. It’s not just their data we are hosting and protecting, it’s our own data as well.
