In this post…
As we slow down during the holiday season and look back on 2013 it’s hard to believe another year has passed. It was another fun year working alongside our wonderful customers, growing and improving Intervals. We wanted to take a moment of pause to highlight just a few of the updates made during 2013, none of which would be possible without you.
New customer case studies
We published a new series of case studies highlighting some of our customers. Interviewing our customers was a rewarding process. In addition to learning how agencies use Intervals, we were able to witness and write about the human side of each agency.

Calendar navigation improvements and iCalendar support
We improved the calendar UI. And we added the ability to pull milestones, tasks and notes from your Intervals calendar into your favorite calendaring client. The iCalendar subscription feature made it possible to sync with Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple iCal, or any others that support iCalendar subscriptions.

Redesigned timers and person activity feed
We revisited the timer buttons and redesigned them to be easier to click, take up less space, and provide a more intuitive time tracking experience. And we extended the project feed feature over to people’s profile pages, enabling you to see what’s been going on recently with any member of your team.

New help videos
We re-recorded many of the help videos to bring them up-to-date and introduced some new videos. We have learned through the feedback we receive that the videos are very helpful. The user interface, and many of Intervals features, have evolved since the last videos were recorded. Videos are only a snapshot in time, and we want them to reflect the most current user experience.

Code refactoring
To stay ahead of current trends and technologies, we rebuilt some key components of the home page calendar in preparation for some new features we’ll be adding. This has been an ongoing process and we’ll be unveiling new calendar features soon.

Infrastructure upgrades and improvements
Throughout the year we continued to make proactive upgrades to our server infrastructure. We are committed to keeping up with current technology trends and our growing customer base. We made several updates throughout the year to improve speed and keep the Intervals servers a few steps ahead of customer demand.
What’s next?
We have a lot of new features in development for Intervals in early 2014. We will be redesigning portions of the home page calendar to display tasks and notes across multiple days. Then we’ll be tweaking the mobile experience. And we’ll be continuing to implement performance and infrastructure updates to keep Intervals running quickly.
Until then, we wish all of you the happiest of holidays and a prosperous new year. May 2014 continue to carry us all onward and upward.
Cheers,
